Hart Lake is a very popular hiking and backpack destination. From the East Portal trailhead, it is a 5-mile hike or a super fun trail run. Fishing can be challenging due to its popularity and the clear waters, the fish are easily spooked. It's certainly worth a trip up there just for the breathtaking views. As far as fishing goes, small nymphs with a hopper seemed to work well, also, a Caddis (dry) drew some attention from the fish.
