This is a great spot for a quick fish. It’s slightly out of town (just a few minutes down Highway 160). I'm assuming this spot can be popular due to the short approaches to the river. However, with the bike paths and trails that parallel the Animas, finding an isolated spot should not be too difficult. Lots of Browns and Rainbows. 

Dry flies. Several mid to small browns on stimulator. Most were caught in rock eddies near the shore.

As of a few days ago, spring runoff started due to the warming temps. Be careful out there.

No access issues at the moment. The large parking area is shared with the Durango BMX track and bike path users.
